Full- and part-time openings
Lead House Manager
A dynamic, personable, and experienced member of the front-of-house team at ETC, the Lead House Manager works collaboratively with the Box Office, Production, Security, and Facilities staff to ensure the safe, smooth operation of the front-of-house environment, which enables our guests to fully enjoy our performances. This work plays an essential role in creating and maintaining strong, positive relationships with our patrons.
Reporting to the Box Office Manager, this is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position with a starting rate of $15-17 per hour. The Lead House Manager supervises ETC’s volunteer ushers and, when applicable, a member of the apprentice company serving as Assistant House Manager. The schedule parallels our performance schedule, typically 20–30 hours per week during each production. Additional hours are occasionally available for special events.

Box Office Associate
A dynamic, personable, and experienced member of the broader front-of-house team at ETC, Box Office Associates create amazing customer service experiences that enable our guests to fully enjoy our performances. This work transcends ticketing operations, playing an essential role in creating and maintaining strong, positive relationships with our patrons.
Reporting to the Box Office Manager, this is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position with a starting rate of $14-16 per hour. The ETC box office is open Monday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm, with additional evening and weekend hours during performance weeks. This means a flexible mix of daytime, evening, and weekend hours will be available to Box Office Associates.

Apprenticeships
Professional Apprentice Program
Ensemble Theatre’s Professional Apprentice Program is a concentrated 11-month program (August-July) that serves as a springboard for early-career theatre makers as they begin their professional path. Application dates for the 2023–2024 Season are December 15, 2022–March 15, 2023.
Professional Acting Apprentice
The Professional Acting Apprenticeship is an eleven-month paid position and is a great fit for the theatremaker who has had some hands-on experience or some formal training. The apprenticeship is designed to support early career professionals in the development of necessary skills and experience to further their careers in theatre. Over the course of a season, each acting apprentice will be given rotating assignments for each show. This may include but is not limited to auditioning for each show that a role is applicable or for an understudy position; observing rehearsals; understudying rehearsals; attending tech rehearsals; learning and rehearsing a running crew position and electrics load-in; learning board operation and attending intensives, classes, Q & As, and workshops.

Assistant Stage Management Apprentice
The ASM Apprenticeship is an eleven-month paid position. The ASM Apprentice will take on the title of 2nd ASM as listed in the playbill alongside other apprentice crew members. The 2nd ASM attends and assists in rehearsals and through the full run of the productions. Under the training, mentorship, and supervision of the Production Stage Manager, Costume Supervisor, and Wardrobe Supervisor, the ASM Apprentice’s primary duties include a wardrobe focus: taking notes and tracking wardrobe elements in rehearsals, being on book, quick changes, laundry, and running wardrobe, as part of a small wardrobe team during performances. The ASM Apprentice reports directly to the Production Stage Manager, Costume Supervisor, Wardrobe Supervisor, the 1st ASM, and the Director of Apprentice Programming.

Technical Apprentice
The Technical Apprenticeship is an eleven-month, paid, entry-level position. The program is a great fit for the theatre maker who has had some hands-on experience or some formal training. If currently enrolled in higher-ed classes, ETC may retrofit a schedule that is beneficial to both the apprentice and ETC and provide class credit fulfillment. The technical apprenticeship is designed to support an early career professional in the development of necessary skills and experience to further their career in theatre. Under the training, mentorship, and supervision of the Technical Director (TD) and Assistant Technical Director (ATD), the Technical Apprentice assists in the construction and installation of all scenic elements of Ensemble Theatre’s six-show season.
