Do I need to wear a mask?
Masks are strongly recommended but not required.
Will you send me any reminders or updates about your policies before I attend?
All ticket buyers will receive an email approximately 4 days prior to their show date (or at the time of purchase if closer to performance) with our current health and safety guidelines. Text notifications that include links to our Health and Safety policies and e-tickets will also be sent a few hours prior to the performance (patrons may opt-out of text notifications at any time).
Will you be implementing physically distanced seating?
No. All performances will be sold at full capacity (182).
What can I do with my tickets if I am uncomfortable attending?
Please contact our Box Office at (513) 421-3555 as soon as possible to discuss any options we can offer.
How is Ensemble Theatre working to advance equity and diversity?
We have had a longstanding commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. More recently, though, we have come to a stronger understanding and awareness of how white supremacy permeates and upholds systems of oppression and marginalization in American theater—on stage, off stage, behind the scenes, and in administrative offices.
We believe diverse ideas, identities, abilities, backgrounds, cultures, and traditions not only enrich the quality of and access to our programs, but also empower and strengthen our organization and mission overall. We believe that an active, anti-racist approach is the only path to create change.

How can I audition for a show?
We’re always looking for new talent to shine on our stage and encourage actors of all types, ages, ethnicities, genders, and abilities to audition. Check out our Auditions page for more information about upcoming auditions and how you can be involved.
How do I rent the theatre's spaces?
Our lobby, bar, mezzanine, and rehearsal hall spaces are available for public event rental when not in use for shows and rehearsals. Please visit our Event Rentals page for more information!
How can I become a volunteer usher?
There’s no way we’d be able to create extraordinary shows and impactful community programs without our many volunteers! Visit our Volunteer page for more information about opportunities, upcoming training sessions, and volunteer requirements.
What if I lose something; where is the lost and found?
Check with our front of house staff if you believe you have lost something. Our ushers and crew clean the house between all performances and any items found will be securely kept at the box office. Please give us your seat location, a description of the item, and a way to contact you in case your missing item is found after you leave.
How big is the theatre?
Our performance space is an intimate 182-seat theatre and is stadium-style seating with each row higher than the one in front of it. This means there are no obstructed views and the farthest seat is only 12 rows from the stage, making you feel part of the action on stage no matter where you sit.
How much are tickets?
Ensemble Theatre uses dynamic pricing. Much like an airline, this means ticket prices are based on demand. Adult tickets start from $35, but as dates get closer and seats become scarcer, prices may increase $5-$15 more per ticket. For the best possible single ticket prices, we strongly suggest purchasing as far in advance as possible.
Children’s tickets (ages 12 and under) are always $24 regardless of when you purchase or for which date.
Can I return my tickets?
Single ticket purchases are final sale and non-refundable. If for some reason you cannot attend a show you purchased tickets for, you can reschedule for a different date of the show for a fee, but not for a different show’s run.
Do you offer ticket discounts?
Yes, we offer a variety of ticket discounts! You can find the full list of discounts we offer on our Ticket Discounts page.
Do you offer group discounts?
Yes, the more the merrier! Ensemble Theatre provides a discount on tickets for groups of 8 or more. For more information, please explore our Group Tickets offerings.
What if I lose my tickets?
Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. If you lose your tickets we can resend them via email or reprint them at the box office. If you’d like, you can call us for assistance at (513) 421-3555.
What if I can't come on the date that I'm scheduled to attend?
That’s okay, life happens! Please give our box office a call to reschedule your tickets for another date during the show’s run. If you cannot reschedule, tickets are fully tax-deductible as a charitable donation as they are non-refundable.
What happens if I'm late to a show or miss a show altogether?
Latecomers to a show will be seated at the House Manager’s discretion at an appropriate time between scenes. You may be denied admission dependent on demands or structure of a particular production, or if you are over 15 minutes late.
If you miss a show altogether and did not arrange to reschedule, unfortunately, this is a no-show and your tickets cannot be refunded or rescheduled.
What is the running time of a show?
The running time of our productions vary by show. Approximate running times of shows can be found on the individual show detail pages; you may also call our Box Office during business hours.
What is the minimum age to attend a production?
Children under the age of 4 are not admitted unless otherwise advertised.
How do I know if a show is appropriate for my child or teen?
Our show pages always include a small description indicating themes along with specific content and any trigger warnings for our audiences. Discretion is up to the parent/guardian based upon the disclaimer listed on the show page, as we believe you know your kids best. Each holiday season we present a family-friendly musical, which is always appropriate for children and teens—though we know audiences of ALL ages will enjoy it!
If your teen is interested in the work we produce, consider signing them up for a Teen Scene subscription.
What happens if a show is canceled?
If a show is canceled, we will call or email you to let you know and explain options for rescheduling your tickets for another date. We will also post the cancelation notice on our website and social media channels. Please make sure we have your current contact information. Can I take a photo of the show?
Photos of the set are allowed (and encouraged!) before or after the show and during intermission but not when artists are onstage. Video or audio capture of any performance, though, is prohibited.

Are there post-show Q&As?
Yes! Our Meet the Artists series are question and answer sessions with the cast, crew, and/or artists after select Thursday evenings. Additionally, there are pre-show ETC Essentials (brief informational talks) at 1:00 p.m. before select matinees.
Specific dates for Meet the Artists and ETC Essentials are indicated on our events listings as well as on individual show pages.
What are the Box Office hours?
Box Office hours are Mon-Sat: 10 am–8 pm on performance days, Sun: 10 am–6 pm on performance days, and on non-performance days the Box Office closes at 5 pm.
What should I wear to the theatre? Is there a dress code?
Anything goes! Ok, maybe not anything, but when you come to our theatre, it serves as your home as well as ours. That means we want you to be comfortable. Some guests want to come “dressed up,” others come in more comfortable attire. There is no dress code at ETC.
Is the theater accessible?
Ensemble Theatre offers a variety of accessibility accommodations. From all-gender restrooms and wheelchair-accessible seating to braille playbills and sensory-friendly shows, we strive to provide greater arts access for everyone in our community. What time should I arrive at the theatre?
Our lobby opens one hour prior to showtime; the doors to the theater, approximately a half-hour before showtime. Alcoholic beverages are available starting one hour before the performance at the 1125 Bar on our first-floor lobby. If you need to pick up your tickets at Will Call, you are welcome to stop by during Box Office hours at any time.
Where should I park?
There are several convenient parking options. Most patrons find a spot either in the Gateway Garage or at the surface lot at 12th and Vine Streets. Check out our Parking and Directions page for more details and options for where to park when you attend.
Are there places I can get something to eat or drink near the theatre?
Are there ever! Drink and dining options abound in our Over-the-Rhine neighborhood and are within walking distance of the theatre. Visit our comprehensive Local Dining page to find your next pre- or post-show meal, beverage, or dessert.
Do you sell concessions?
Due to COVID-19, until further notice, concessions are NOT being offered at this time and no consumption of food or drink is permitted inside the building. Additionally, water fountains will be unavailable for use.

Anything else I should know?
Laugh. Cry. Theatre is a living art form that relies on an audience’s collective experience and interaction to be successful, so we invite you to cheer, clap, gasp in surprise. Make friends with your neighbor before the show or at intermission. Heck, give the actors a standing ovation if you want to.
Question what happens on stage and talk about it later. Immerse yourself in the playbill. If something moves you enough, translate it into other areas of your life. We’re passionate about theatre and its ability to illuminate other people’s stories and experiences as well as prompt self-reflection. It’s why we do what we do and we love it. We can’t wait to see you in the audience.
