Theatre as community.
The theatre is where we congregate to witness the transformative experience of moving storytelling with one another. Our gathering place at 1127 Vine Street not only brings incredible local and national artists to create exceptional work on our stage, but it also welcomes a diverse community of theatre lovers to constructively explore and discuss our shows together.
In addition to our productions, Ensemble Theatre has many options, such as post-show talk-backs to expert panel discussions, for our patrons to further engage with our shows and community programs. We invite you to get closer to the theatre you love with these opportunities, most of which are free.
Special events
Join us for special performances, behind-the-scenes experiences, and community-building conversations.
ETC Essentials
Join us for a FREE pre-show conversation series with local scholars and community members typically held on the second Sunday matinee of a production’s run at 1:00 pm. These panels explore the themes and context of each of our productions in detail and delve into specific topics that are integral to the story being told on stage.
There is no charge for ETC Essentials; however, reservations are required so that we can ensure enough seating for participants.
Meet the Artists
Interested in chatting with the artists behind the productions you love? Meet the Artists is a FREE post-show talkback series on the second Thursday evening and second Sunday afternoon for each production on our main stage. Following the performance, anyone interested in staying meets in the 1125 Bar, and members of the cast join after getting out of costume.
Sit back, relax with a beverage, and chat with friends and familiar faces from on- and off-stage.
Special Performances
Relaxed performances
Attend a performance in a judgment-free environment with slight modifications made for patrons with sensory and vestibular sensitivities, Autism, or developmental disabilities to enjoy live theatre. These are typically scheduled for the third Saturday matinee of each production and include a discounted ticket rate.
Accessible performances
Accessible Performances provide additional accommodations for patrons who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, have low vision, or have mobility disabilities. Select performances throughout the season feature ASL interpretation, audio description, assistive listening devices, and other accessibility services, helping ensure that everyone can experience the power of live theatre.
